John Wheatley and I have been planning what our journey might look like next year after we graduate from CYM Bristol. Click the link below for the outline of the plans and vision we have for the Bournville Estate in Weston-super-mare. Let me know what you think or any advice welcome.
'and hope, through our lives, to find meaningful ways of meeting local people and their needs'.
What about you own needs also being met? I'd be interested to hear how you've explored your own brokeness and need.
Or what about the community meeting their own needs? Obviously you'll seek to do this but how do you work with the differences between what the community perceives their need is, what various institutions think the need is and what you think the need is.
Really excited about this journey that you're both on. Can't wait to see what happens.

Thankyou for the response Clare, great questions! sorry for the delay in response.
We have been wrestling with the needs analysis for some time and liked that you identified that it is also our needs that might be the motivation here.
Honestly, I have done well to separate home environments from where I have worked but I long for a sense of community beyond the experience of the suburbs. While I don't think I have the answers to the statistics of deprivation on the estate, I do believe the community have a lot to teach me about what it means to be a servant following Christ.
